“In the living room or by the pool, Sunbrella fabrics give you the sophisticated style you want with the protection you need.” This is one of Sunbrella’s mantras, and we here at Curran second it. Did you know that Sunbrella offers many different grades of fabric? Sometimes when our clients are shopping around, they see the same item priced many different ways. Often this is due to the item’s cushion being covered in a different grade fabric. Sunbrella offers grade A-E fabrics. Grade E can be more than twice the cost of grade A. The basic solid color plain fabrics generally are grade A. The more intricate the design, the more expensive the fabric. The most expensive fabrics are those that are waterproof. Sunbrella Rain is the most recent addition to the waterproof line. It uses a special coating on the backside of the fabric, which is guaranteed to be 100% waterproof through a special manufacturing process.
We also have many clients who use Sunbrella fabrics for their indoor upholstered furniture. It is worth the money if you are in need for a fabric that will hold up to kids, dogs, etc. and look great too.
Design Tip: Sunbrella Rain has a higher price point, but because it’s waterproof, you are not required to use a dry-fast foam for the cushion. Also, if the outside of your cushions do happen to get wet, it only takes a couple of minutes for them to go back to completely dry!
