Curran was proud to be a sponsor of this year’s Seattle International Children’s Film Festival. We had a vested interest in this year’s festival since Barbara and I brought the winning film to the festival. While vacationing in the Engadine this summer, we heard that Schellen Ursli, our sons’ favorite children book, had been made into a movie and was shot in the Engadine. Barbara contacted the film company and put them in touch with the director of the Seattle festival. Very quickly things developed and luckily for us, the Academy Award winning director, Xavier Koller, who wrote and directed the Schellen Ursli and now lives in LA, was looking to debut his film in the USA. He decided that Seattle was the perfect place to do it. We hosted Xavier at our home, and the Swiss Government sponsored a party and dinner with notable Swiss dignitaries. We had a great time at the festival. Schellen Ursli won Best Picture at the festival (Jury and Audience Award). It is a great movie. I highly recommend that when it comes out that you bring your family to see it.
